Products FAQ
We like to be as transparent as we possibly can, so we’re perfectly happy to disclose who our suppliers are; Currently, they consist of Nioras, the Saint Elisabeth Convent in Minsk, the Skete of Saint Andrew on the Holy Mountain, OrthodoxIconsGB and Saint George Orthodox Information Service.
We would encourage people to go straight to the source when it is possible for them to do so – This is especially the case in regards to Saint George Orthodox Information Service, OrthodoxIconsGB and the Saint Elisabeth Convent. This is because SGOIS and OrthodoxIconsGB are also based in the UK, and therefore there are no shipping cost barriers, and by buying directly from the Saint Elisabeth Convent in Minsk you are supporting their ministry.
Our primary goal and selling point is to lessen shipping costs for those in the UK.
If we receive enough requests to stock a certain product/type of product, we can certainly look into the possibility of doing so. Unfortunately, this cannot be guaranteed, as many factors can come into play which prevent this.
Feel free to submit any requests to info@whitehorsewares.co.uk
A lot of our product photography is done by William (Baptismal name Peter) Clare, who is also an Orthodox Christian. We have an incredibly low end setup for Peter to work with, so it’s amazing that he does such an incredible job! If anyone is interested in employing his services, please let us know and we can pass on his details. Many of the photo’s that are of a lower quality are done by us.
Note: Some of the photo’s of the St. Elisabeth stock were not produced by Peter or us, but instead taken directly from the Saint Elisabeth Convent website with the permission of the sisters.
Orders & Shipping FAQ
Currently, we only ship to select countries within western Europe, as we have come to discover that shipping outside this region brings too many concerns at the present time. Our main intent is to provide a service to the best of our ability within the UK and western Europe.
We will provide a tracking number for most orders and this will be sent out to you via email notification once the order has been despatched. Once available, you can also view tracking information by going to My Account > Orders, choosing the relevant order and scrolling to the bottom of the page.
The Royal Mail 48 hour tracked service will be used by default. If we think there may be issues with this at that current time, we may change to another courier such as DPD Local. If you have a particular preference, please feel free to state this in the notes and we will do our best to accommodate.
We will aim to process and despatch your order within 48 hours, but this is circumstantial (e.g. the time of day the order was placed, day of the week, etc..) and therefore, won’t always be possible.
There will also be times when we are not working; such as Sundays, feast days, etc.. and this will of course impact the speed at which your order is despatched. In the case of any prolonged periods of absence, a store notice will be displayed on the site with information regarding this and how it will impact the service we usually aim to deliver.
You can request a status update on your order by emailing us at info@whitehorsewares.co.uk
As a non-UK-based customer, you should review your country’s policy on duty/customs payments before placing an order with us, so that you are fully aware of any additional fees you may be liable to pay.
As expressed in our Returns Policy, we will not offer a refund for any items returned by the courier as a result of failure to pay duty fees.
Contact FAQ
Subject to our availability, we will aim to respond to emails within 24 hours. The exceptions to this are; Sundays, old calendar feast days and Holy Week. Any other times in which our responses may be significantly delayed will be displayed in the store notice, which will appear at the top of the site when relevant.
As of right now, we don’t currently have the resources to ensure that we are able to answer the phone consistently. However, if you would rather speak to us over the phone, you can arrange a phone call by emailing us at info@whitehorsewares.co.uk
As well as running White Horse Wares, we are also currently working full-time jobs, and likely will be doing so for the foreseeable future. We never expected this company to pull in a full-time income for us – Who knows though? Maybe one day, God willing, that will happen, but it was certainly never our intention.
As a result of this, it’s hard to be particularly clear about our working hours. We’re generally just hopping on shift throughout the day (if you will), and so far, we’re managing to keep on top of everything the best we can.
Ultimately, we are in full operation every single day of the week, with the exception of Sundays, feast days and Holy week.
